On our way back from Port Aransas to Fredericksburg we stopped by in Karnes City to see some of the Longhorns of the Kimble Cattle Company‘s herd. In a previous blog I published some pictures of their prize-steer, Wow, who … Continue reading

Unusually Cool

With just 72 Fahrenheit, it’s been really unusually cool today for the middle of July in southern Texas, even with the Texas Hill Country normally being cooler than further down and further south in Karnes City, where we used to … Continue reading

What a Difference …

… 120 miles further south and 1,500 feet less in elevation make!

Was fuer einen Unterschied …

… 180 Kilometer weiter suedlich und 500 Meter weniger an Hoehe ausmachen!

The day before yesterday I was in Karnes City again, for just a few hours. But it was quite hot [close to 90 degrees] and extremely humid [dewpoint in the lower to mid 70s]. That felt unbearable, especially compared to Fredericksburg here, where we had just the upper 70s and a dewpoint of below 60.

I really don’t know how I was able to stand the Karnes County climate for so long.
