Twin Fawns

Well, I believe they’re twins: very close to each other in size, and one mama with them only. I had seen them before, but too short only and too far away to really get them on camera. Today, though, I did! They were close to the tall grass above our well. Unfortunately, the cross tree for our bird feeders got in the way sometimes. But that can’t be helped. I didn’t dare to move to a different spot for fear of spooking them. Enjoy this video:

Zwillings Rehkitze

  1. Very sweet! What a nice sight

  2. Super video. I have never seen a fawn suckle its mom while the mom is lying down. I love your zoom.

  3. What a lovely, peaceful scene. I can imagine how much pleasure it gives you to have them around. And it really is obvious from this video how those spots help camouflage the fawns. They do blend in with the dappled light.

    • That’s what I always think about these garden scenes: so peaceful! We certainly love to have the deer around – more so when they have their fawns. You’re right: they’re really well camouflaged.

  4. Such a beautiful environment and they are lovely!

How wonderful they came to your backyard! Such a greenery beautiful yard. 🙂

    • Hi Amy,
you’re welcome. I like to share these beautiful views of the fawns. As to our backyard: I’m lucky that the video doesn’t show details. I have lots of work to do still to make it really look good. But I admit that it’s nicely green just now.
      Have a great weekend,
      Pit

  11. Aw, they are so cute. Teddy and I saw a small herd by a stream on our way to the Mall. Note to self – this is why I enjoy living here. 🦌
